Local SEO checklist for Indian service businesses

Google Business Profile, NAP consistency, reviews and location pages — the basics that still move the needle.

If you run a clinic, coaching centre, agency or shop in a specific city, local intent is your main channel. People search “near me” or “in [city]” — you want to show up in the map pack and organic results.

Google Business Profile

  • Complete every section — services, hours, photos
  • Pick primary and secondary categories carefully
  • Post updates monthly (offers, photos, news)
  • Reply to every review — good or bad

NAP consistency

Name, Address, Phone must match across:

  • Your website footer
  • Google Business Profile
  • Justdial / IndiaMART / other directories you care about

One wrong pin code or old phone number can dilute trust signals.

Location and service pages

Create dedicated pages such as:

  • /services/web-design-jaipur
  • /dentist-koramangala

Each page should have unique copy — not the same paragraph with the city name swapped.

Reviews workflow

Ask happy clients right after delivery. A simple WhatsApp template works:
